Samuel Baker, son of Henry Baker and Margaret his wife, was born in England, and came to America with his parents about the year and settled in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He became an extensive landed proprietor and prominent man. He was a Justice of the Peace in , and was chosen a member of the Assembly from Bucks County and In , he married his first wife, Henrietta Ann Bidgood Martin, who eventually bore him 7 children.
